Voice Mail Compressor

Voice Mail Compressor is an easy to use freeware application that lets you record and send voice mail messages, using your default email program (Outlook, Outlook Express etc.). It creates compressed .wav files and can achieve file sizes of about 30kb (using a 30 second message as an example). The receiver does not need to install any software and can listen to the message with Windows Media Player or any other audio player. The interface is straightforward and easy to use with standard playback controls. The audio message can be automatically attached to a new email message or saved to disk. Other features include a customizable subject line and body text, as well a codec selection and recording controls.

Free push email from Emoze

The program works by installing a connector into your PC’s email client which pushes received email to the emoze distribution network from where it is intelligently pushed to your mobile device. The connector currently requires Microsoft Outlook with Lotus Notes and Outlook Express support coming soon. The system is also able to retrieve email from webmail programs, including Hotmail, Yahoo Mail and Gmail via POP3 connections.

Easy2Sync for Outlook

Easy2Sync for Outlook allows you to synchronize your Outlook Inbox with a second computer across the network. Just select the local profile or PST file, and the target profile or PST file and start the synchronization. The program allows you to confirm which actions will be taken (optional deletion, synchronization, overwrite etc.). It synchronizes not only the messages, but also their status, including Outlook flags, so if a message it marked read in the mirror, it will be marked read in the source as well. This free version is limited to Inbox/Outbox synchronization – additional folders can be synchronized if you purchase the full product ($49.00).

Live Mail Desktop Makes Beta Debut

Microsoft has begun a limited beta test of its upcoming Windows Live Mail Desktop. The offering is intended to provide users of Windows Live Mail and Hotmail with client-side access to e-mail services. While such a feature was previously only available to paid subscribers, Live Mail Desktop would expand the offering to all users.

The Windows Live Mail Desktop client will be similar to Outlook Express in the way it operates, but it is optimized to integrate Microsoft’s Live platform. The application would also provide functionality for users of Windows Live Contacts, Messenger, Spaces, and other such services.

Windows Mail – A Rebrand of Outlook Express

Even though it does require an initial training phase, it does not rely on keyword lists to detect spam, but automatically learns from the content of the messages that you accept or reject within about 14 days. The email that is identified as spam is either blocked and/or marked in the subject line.
